Marco Yuracheck specializes in leading climbing, river, and backpacking expeditions, as well as wildlife study, and wilderness skills programs in remote wilderness locations throughout the world.. His wilderness guiding experience has taken him from some of the world’s highest peaks, to tropical jungles, deserts, oceans and all environments in between. He has extensive Search And Rescue experience in all of these environments. He has also worked with the film and TV industries as a technical adviser and safety consultant. In addition to guiding, Marko has worked with numerous clinics and medical programs in developing nations. He
currently provides instruction in High Angle and Technical Rescue to the NPS, law enforcement and military. Marko instructs programs for SOLO, in wilderness medicine, for Outward Bound, both in the US and internationally, and does adaptive climbing for Paradox.

Emily Johnston, MD, FACEP, DiMM
Dr. Johnston works as a high altitude mountain guide, whitewater guide, ski patroller and emergency medicine physician. She guides climbers on peaks around the globe, including Mt. Rainier, Denali, Mt. Vinson, and Mt. Everest. She is medical director for International Mountain Guides, teaches DIMM courses for the US Army, holds an AIARE level 3 avalache certification, and trains whitewater guides. She has been involved in SAR in a variety of environments, and trained and handled an avalanche rescue dog for 10 years. She attended the University of Washington School of Medicine, and completed her residency in Emergeny Medicine at OHSU in Portland, OR. Personal projects, guiding, and adventure racing, have taken her to the wild places of every continent. She is currently based in the Tetons, and when not working as a guide, ER doc, or medical/motivational speaker, she enjoys backcountry skiing and trail running with her dog, writing, and the refuge of silent meditation.
